Leather Engraving: Create a Custom Bound Photo Album:

Join guest instructor, Inga Ojala, as she shares her
expertise in leather engraving.  Using leather photo album
covers, Inga will lead students through the engraving
process step-by-step.  Students will begin by pre-soaking
their leather and pre-drawing their chosen designs and
images on transfer paper. They will then transfer their
images onto their leather photo album covers and begin
the process of cutting the leather.  Inga will then
demonstrate how to make images pop into 3-dimensions
during the tooling process.  Once the tooling is complete
and the leather dry, Inga will lead the group through
staining the leather and putting on finishing touches by
painting with markers. Finally, students hand-sew the
straps and put the album cover together. Project
complete!  Don’t miss this opportunity to work with Inga in
this amazing medium!
